The Good as Gold Rule

We’ve all heard of the Golden rule.

“Do to others as you would have them do to you.”

I’m gonna start the Good as Gold rule.

Do for yourself as you would do for others.

I’m talking about compassion and kindness.

Who of us hold ourselves to a higher standard than others?

How often are we more compassionate, understanding, and kind to others than to ourselves?

Put your hand up if you judge yourself more harshly than others for the same indiscretions?

Ok, maybe not everyone is like this, but I would guess that a hell-of-a-lot of us are.

So, today’s conscious action is…

To be just as compassionate, understanding and kind to yourself as you are to others.

And when you catch yourself judging yourself harshly — there’s another opportunity to practice the Good as Gold rule!
