I disagree respectfully, Joe.

Praising the wealth hoarders is what we have been doing for decades — through the social norms of wealth aggrandizement in shows like Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous back in the 80’s and the more recent excessive attention given to people like Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs.

These people have a psychosis of hoarding. It is a mental illness. Yet we celebrate them as among the most prestigious and desirable to emulate.

Sadly, you are incorrect by treating the metaphor I used as literal. What you described as hoarding behavior in biological organisms is merely a part of the multi-level emergent cooperation that happens among multicellular organisms.

I know you understand the biology of living systems. So please step back and think more about this… both in the concepts themselves and with respect to what is happening in the world today.

As a few thousand people are now billionaires and billions of people are malnourished and disempowered, to endorse hoarding behavior is to be profoundly out of touch with reality.

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
