Thanks, Adam Dawkins. The “indifference” of systems is a major consideration — as the Easter Islanders learned when their socio-political system collapsed taking most of them down with it.
Luckily, we have a very mature collection of system sciences now that we can employ to help us see the systems we are embedded in, analyze them to understand their governing dynamics, then apply design thinking to help evolve them so they behave in better ways that support human (and ecological) flourishing.
