I often wonder where dreams come from and why do we each get dreams so unique to us. Is it our upbringing, the school we attended, or some mysterious source of power that seeks us out?

After many years of pondering, experimenting, and evaluating my own experiences with dreams, I came to the conclusion that our dreams are gifts meant for us to unwrap as we journey through life. Who are these gifts from? I believe that is for each of us to personally determine. Nonetheless, those gifts, our dreams, are there.

I come to believe that our dreams are gifts for a couple of reasons. First, I’ve found that dreams come to us in the form of inspiration or desire. Often it’s due to a search or quest to better our current situation, conditions, the lives of others we care about, and ultimately ourselves.

Secondly, I believe that whether we achieve our dreams, or not, they always elevate us to a new level of self-actualization. As you aspire to achieve the dream that drive pulls you, forcing you to become more than what you once were. A better version of yourself. Allowing anyone who strives for their dreams to win regardless if they achieve what they originally set out to accomplish. Chasing our dreams provides us with a level of resilience that moves us forward no matter what life throws our way.

Ultimately, the challenge with dreams is that many of us don’t believe it’s possible to achieve our dreams for a variety of reasons. To work past those reasons and strive to obtain our dreams we have to believe in ourselves. I know, this is often easier said than done. Which is why we’ll tackle belief next week.

Until then my friends remember to dream, achieve, and inspire.
