This might seem like a dumb question after I’ve asked it, but what is the URL meant to point to?

Your EB Worker Tier app is basically a web application with a series of POST endpoints to perform whatever worker tasks you want to run. These are not public HTTP endpoints that you can fire from a browser — to interact with them you typically use SQS (the body of the queue message is sent in the POST data) or scheduled tasks using cron.yaml (as described in my post).

This approach is great when you want to be able to run long-running processes and scheduled jobs without the overhead of managing servers. If you want python, CLI, bash and stdout/stderr logging you’d be better off spinning up an EC2 instance and running your own cron jobs on that.
