Technology Runs The World
As cool as that sounds, it’s really not cool at all. Who really benefits from technology, us, or the manufacturers? The manufacturers of course. They give us the “Next Big Thing”, and it’s our job to discover any flaws it has. Then, the manufacturers make an even better version of the “Next Big Thing”, and the cycle repeats again.
It all sounds like fun and games until we realize that technology has dominated our entire lives, even the world. It’ll decimate employment sooner than later, and our lives will soon become one with technology because we heavily depend on it to do everything for us. Now, don’t get me wrong. Technology is a wonderful thing. It gives you lots of options to choose from and also gives you lots of opportunities for you to explore. But, that’s the deception of it. All these amazing things you can do with technology is a smokescreen to what technology is actually doing: controlling us and the world.
Self ordering machines from McDonald’s will soon become the norm. People occasionally have conflicts with the cashier, and now these machines will end it. Less problems for us consumers, more difficult for people to find jobs at McDonald’s, a cashier to be specific. McDonald’s doesn’t need to worry because people adapt to things quickly because other types of technology are occupying their days.
Our phones are becoming smarter, yet people are becoming more lazy and less smarter. Phones are doing almost everything for us. All you need to say is “OK Google…” or “Siri…” and tell them whatever you need to look up and it’ll do it for you. No typing necessary. Now is this cool? Definitely. But how long will it be before we don’t even need to type our messages because our phones have become so smart, that they’ve learned how we speak, our accents, and all our slang, and they can just send the messages for us? It’s mind-boggling where technology is headed.
Technology has taken over almost everything. From farming, to buildings (and in my opinion, they’re becoming more futuristic, let me tell you that), to cars (yes, self driving cars, a.k.a, Google). Next, will be our clothes, sneakers, watches (nod to LG, Apple, Samsung, and Motorola), interchangeable phones (nod to, once again, Google), and mobile pay (a.k.a Samsung/Android/Apple Pay). Only time can tell what’s more to come.
Enjoy.
