“The photo you uploaded is too small! It must be at least 800 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.”

After getting this error message about 10000 times and trying another 10000 different ways of trying to upload an image. I’ve succeeded.. finally. It was so painful, I decided to write down these steps for others (and possibly myself if I ever forget).

  1. In Microsoft Powerpoint, format the Slide Size to 80cm (Width) x 20cm (Height). This follows the required dimensions for Google Form Headers and this will act as your design template.
Tap on File > Page Setup

2. Start designing on the custom-sized powerpoint slide — Add your background image, colors, add your logo etc.

Note: If you want the background to be yellow, use Shapes and create a yellow rectangle. Coloring the background will not work.

3. Once you are ready, group added elements together. (Text, Images etc) Select all elements (grouped or not) and Right Click and select Save as Picture

Select all elements and Right Click > Save as Picture

4. Save the image in .png format for highest quality.

Remember not to tick the option box!

5. Upload your saved .png image in Google Forms, and tadah! your own branded Google Form is ready.

Let me know if this worked for you in the comments!
