2 Amazing Results of Prayer

As soon as I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me strength. Psalms 138:3

Prayer is something the Lord has really challenged me to a new level in this year. I’ve been serving and leading at Gateway Dallas for prayer on Thur mornings and this morning I shared this verse from the Power of DBR reading plan (see more at powerofdbr.com).

This little verse makes 2 incredible promises and declares each will happen “as soon as I pray.”

The first is that the Lord will answer me. Wow! Imagine that! A God that answers the prayers of His children. That is the good Father we serve.

When we ask anything from the Father, in Jesus name and in accordance with His Word, IT IS DONE!

Do we see the manifestation immediately, many times not. Is it on its way? YES! I order things from Amazon all the time and by faith I believe they are on the way. I don’t get upset or check with their service dept. when I don’t see it at my front door in the next 3 min! I trust that the process is initiated and my order is on the way! Come on somebody!

The second promise that comes immediately is encouragement and strength.

Sometimes we don’t necessarily NEED anything but we are feeling overwhelmed or inadequate. This is where the amazing love and grace of Christ comes down and totally refreshes and renews us.

This cannot happen if we don’t take the time to connect with heaven in prayer. Who wouldn’t want encouragement and strength directly from heaven? I know I sure do!
