At what point will you desert Him?
At that point, all the disciples deserted him and fled. Matthew 26:56 NLT
We all have our point. That point where we say, “I’m out.” Whether it is a conversation that turns hostile or a job that gets way too involved, we all have a point. The disciples found that point in their commitment to Jesus when he was bound and escorted to the high priest’s home for trial.
They were willing to help feed the five thousand, heal the sick, and accompany Jesus on long ministry tours, but they were not willing to suffer with Him.
How many people have this same point with Christ? They are willing to attend church, read their Bible, and maybe even serve at church some times, but persecution or any type of discomfort is their point of saying, “I’m out.”
Takeaway: What is your point? How far would you go with Christ?
Would you go all the way like the believers in the Coliseum of Rome who were torn apart by wild animals?
Would you abandon Christ if someone ridiculed you over your commitment to Him? Take stock today of your point of true commitment to Christ.
