“Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. He will see to it that all the work related to the Temple of the LORD is finished correctly.” ‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭28:20‬ ‭NLT

David ruled as king for 40 years. As he draws near to the end of his life he gives some invaluable wisdom to his son Solomon that we can benefit from today. He is completely aware that the task ahead of Solomon is too big for him.

No amount of preparation could prepare Solomon for the sheer task of building God a magnificent temple.

So David gave Solomon a charge to go forward with the work and rely on God every step of the way.

When it comes to the building of God’s church, there are no shortcuts.

There is no easy way.

There is no way to build what you want and label it as something precious to God.

There’s only one way to build what the Lord desires. It takes faith. It takes courage. It takes hard work. It takes perseverance. You cannot be discouraged. You must know that God is with you!

Takeaway: Has the Lord put something in your heart? Has He put something magnificent in your heart for his kingdom?

Don’t be discouraged. Don’t be afraid. Do the work!
