Fight for your Promise!
“Then she said, “Did I ask you for a son, my lord? And didn’t I say, ‘Don’t deceive me and get my hopes up’?”” 2 Kings 4:28 NLT
The Shunamite woman received her miracle. The son she always believed God for has come. Now it seems that her promise has been taken prematurely. What will she do? How will she respond?
The thing that really strikes me is her statement to the prophet Elisha.
She goes back to the point where the promise was made as if she had never received the promise in the first place.
She did not accept a few years of life from a son. She was insisting on the full promise that had been made to her. What faith!
When the Lord has given you a promise, it's up to you to enforce that promise to the fullness of His Word.
Anything that falls short of what was originally promised must be unacceptable to your faith!
In my life I’ve been promised long life and good health. To simply live for a few years in a sickly body is not the fullness of the promise I’ve received.
I will not settle for anything less than complete healing and God’s best for my life!
Takeaway: what area of your life have you settled for less than what God promised?
Where have you allowed hopes and dreams that were birthed by the Holy Spirit to be aborted or prematurely removed by the enemy?
You need to take a stand today like the woman from Shunem and insist on the fullness of God’s promise in your life. Never settle for anything less!
