How Do You Respond to the Word?
“And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.” Luke 1:38 ESV
How we respond to the word of God is so important.
In Luke chapter 1 we see three different characters responding to the word of God. Two of them, who happened to be women, responded correctly. One of them, who happened to be a man, did not respond correctly. Fortunately, all three of them saw the promise of God come to pass.
Zechariah did not respond properly to the word and was unable to speak until the word came to pass. Mary, on the other hand, makes a powerful statement of surrender to the will of God. Mary had an unusual faith that gave her great favor with God. Think about it, this was no ordinary promised that she was to receive! Nothing like this has never happened before or would ever happen again.
Because she came into alignment with the word, she literally gave birth to the physical Word!
Takeaway: How do you receive the promises of God in your life? Do you believe them and come into alignment with them? Or do you doubt and deny them? Don’t be like Zechariah.
Choose to be like Mary and embrace every promise of God over your life.
