The 2 Kinds of Faith
Today I had a thought that I believe will really help you. When we think about the vast subject of faith it can be overwhelming or super mysterious. Here is a little insight that will help “decode” faith to a certain degree.
The real God-kind-a-faith that Abraham demonstrated is both ENDURING and ENERGIZED! One is the long-term form and the other the short-term.
For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. James 1:3 NLT
Endurance is the long game of faith.
It is the patience, waiting, and persisting that we all don’t like but produces such amazing fruit in our life. My life story seems to be summed up in this word endurance (pray for me :). It is the expression of faith that God honors the most and it also brings Him the greatest glory!
Looking straight at him, Paul realized he had faith to be healed. Acts 14:9a NLT
If faith is not energized, it is not operational!
If you don’t turn the ignition on, the car will not run. The power is useless. The comforts meaningless. You have to turn the car on before you can ever go anywhere. This is the way it is with faith. It HAS to be energized to operate! I have learned in my walk with the Lord to recognize when my faith is useless or limp. Nothing supernatural can or will happen in this state.
It is when that faith comes alive that it starts to work and the supernatural breaks out.
How do you energize your faith? Glad you asked! By daily feeding your spirit the Word of God and speaking that Word out of your mouth.
It is not enough to think it. You have to speak it! You have to act it! You have to move out on the promise of God.
Takeaway: Have you endured in your faith? Have you given up on the promise of God? Have you learned how to energize your faith? Do you know what it feels like to have a faith working in your spirit man? I encourage you today to think on these things and allow the Holy Spirit to bring understanding.
