Too Young? Too Old?

“The LORD replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you.” Jeremiah‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

One of the biggest lies of the enemy to a young man is that you are too young to do anything. This lie gets furthered by “mature” people who always seem to prefer older and older standards for leadership the older they get. I’ve seen 45 year olds tell a 25 year old they are too young when they started out in leadership at 23! This is the nature of man.

The enemy uses the lie of being too young right up until he starts saying your too old!

For instance, I’ve seen people wait till they are 30 to start in youth ministry and then when they get 30 the enemy tells them they are too old and irrelevant to reach the next generation. See how this works?

I’ve come today to expose this age-old strategy of the enemy!

God tells Jeremiah to forget about his age and simply do what he has been called to do.

Don’t overanalyze your age and make it the defining factor in your call.

Sure, you should submit to being developed and seek the blessing of your spiritual authority, but never let your own self-talk take you out of the mission that God has placed on your life.

Takeaway: Have you bought into the lie that you are either too young or too old to do something for Christ? What excuse has the enemy put in your mind that is stopping you from being the “prophet” God has called you to be?

How will you step out today in faith and begin to fulfill the unique call on your life?

How many others could have been used by God but were not obedient to overcome their inhibitions like Jeremiah? Don’t be a casualty of your own making today. Step out!!
