Wanna be a Leader? Work Hard!

Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and become a slave. Proverbs‬ ‭12:24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

So many people dream of being a leader and having a great influence, but rarely are they willing to put in the hard work necessary to become the leader they dream about being.

This verse from Proverbs chapter 12 gives us a very simple insight into leadership… you can work hard and become a leader are you can be lazy and become a slave! A slave to fear, a slave to debt, a slave to the whims of others, or many other forms of slavery can overtake someone if they are not willing to apply themselves and become who they were created to be.

When we talk about hard work I think we need to define what is meant by this.

It is not just any hard work that makes you a leader. It is hard work with intentionality towards being a person of example and influence that truly produces leadership.

Working hard to dig a hole may give you leadership with people who dig holes, but if you want true leadership you must work hard at your leadership so you will be prepared and ready to execute whatever task you are given to the best of your ability.
