When All Hope is Gone
“When neither sun nor stars appeared for many days, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope of our being saved was at last abandoned.” Acts 27:20 ESV
What do you do when all your hope seems gone? When everything around your situation has screamed defeat for so long that you can no longer hear even the faintest whisper of victory? It is time to EAT!
You may be asking, What in the world are you talking about? When Paul and the other 275 men on the ship had been 14 days without the sun or stars they thought everything was certainly lost. Impending death was knocking on their door. Waiting to die was their determination. Paul announces in the midst of this hopelessness that God has granted them all safety. The first thing he does to encourage them is have them eat something. What a picture of the Word of God!
When you are hopeless and all seems lost, pick up the Word of God and begin to strengthen yourself for what lies ahead!
Takeaway: Have you become hopeless in a certain situation? Has all hope escaped you? Have you given up on a breakthrough? Turn to the Word of God today and get a bite to eat! Strengthen yourself for what lies ahead.
The shores of help and rescue may not be far away! You will need the strength and courage of God’s Word to make it safely to shore.
