“Why are You Here?” God

“There he came to a cave, where he spent the night. But the LORD said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”” ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭19:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Elijah had a great victory over the prophets of Baal. Jezebel was not happy. She had threatened to kill him within 24 hours. Now the great prophet is running for his life.

He is running like a scared dog with his tail between his legs!

I love the ability of the Lord to cut right to our heart and speak to our greatest needs and fears.

“What are you doing here?” This is a question the Holy Spirit may be asking you today.

In all of our lives there are times where we get off course. Maybe you are in such a season today. Yesterday we saw the brook drying up and signaling a new season. Maybe today you find yourself at a dried up riverbed but refuse to move on. The Spirit of God would say to you today, “What are you doing here?”

There is another assignment for you. Your greatest days are yet ahead. Don’t look back to the victories of yesterday.

Instead, anticipate what the Lord has for you in the next days and years to come.

Takeaway:

It’s time to move from here to there!
