When working with other people’s code, your options will be limited. This is a problem with React. There are also a few jQuery functions that require you to use this also.

You could try using function decorators to create a new function that operates how you would like it, but it might be more work that it’s worth.

All you can really hope is that your code and libraries don’t require this. It’s just a problem of using someone else’s library.
