Good call.
And yes — it is colonisation. Except this form of colonialism leaves very little behind that is of benefit to the local economy in terms of sustainability — at least ‘old school’ colonialism might give you roads, railways, power infrastructure, etc.
And I’m afraid that it is also, on the whole, done by privileged folks in the first instance who can afford to do this.
Whether the ‘digital nomad’ lifestyle becomes as attractive when folks get older, need more healthcare, etc. will be interesting to see.
