My gig as a freelance music review writer

I have been moonlighting as a freelance writer since 2012. Nothing big just writing music reviews for a publication every quarter. Now it seems like a simple gig but wait until I tell you the audience…(wait for it)…it is a magazine for at-home seniors, residents of senior living facilities, and their community of family, staff, and partners. So what originally seemed like an easy task is not that easy any more. Next throw in that every issue has a theme that all content must be associated with and it becomes even more of a challenge. The one awesome aspect of the gig is that I don’t need to write about new music or even albums which gives me a ton of freedom and control.

I have had a blast writing these reviews and it has given me another creative outlet to express myself. Oh did I happen to mention that I have to provide three reviews per issue with a max of 600 words to work with as well. So from time to time I will share these with you all. I will try to post the past reviews on here shortly. I hope you all enjoy :)
