There is more consideration and research behind Swift’s artwork than you realize. It’s clumsy, but the use of blackletter and Cheltenham references the vernacular of newspapers, as does the overall black and white palette. Swift’s artwork isn’t a statement against the current obsession with minimalism and slick refinement, it’s a commentary on the current state of social media’s obsession with celebrity.
