I disagree. If prop 1 passes it will hurt our chances of succeeding with the Smart Cities grant. We will lose the flexibility we need to reform the ride for hire industry which is key to accomplishing the mission of the Smart Cities challenge. We will not be able to make any changes to the ordinance for 2 years.

What Uber is doing is bad faith and shows that no matter what city wins they will not be good corporate partners.

Their relationship with the other finalists isn’t isn’t better, they just settled with San Fransisco and have fiercely fought Portland. Is SF in fear of being labeled as not innovative? I doubt it.
