hannah miller & jean claude: I think modern technology has definitely exceeded custom and mores in their current forms. But I’m not necessarily sure it’s a bad thing. I think these modern technologies, like cell phones, computers, and iPads, have been around so briefly that we have yet to develop ubiquitous etiquette around them; we have yet to determine the contexts and interactions when it is and is not acceptable to use them. This is all to say that I’m wary to blame technology for human interaction and behavior. I don’t think technology defines human interaction, I think it is defined by human interaction. So if there is an issue, it’s not in the technology but, perhaps, in ourselves. What do you all think?
