In an article like this, one would expect correct designations.

The Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-4, for example, is spelled exactly like that, with a space between ‘Bf’ and ‘109’ and another space between ‘109’ and the subtype letter ‘E’. Not with a spurious full stop: “Bf.109”, and not with a hyphen: “Heinkel-111” [sic!] (Heinkel He 111).

Some elementary research would preclude embarrassing bloopers like these.
