So.. Evolution Fitness in Boca! Full transparency, Evolution Fitness, Evo for short, is high energy, coach led group fitness, that was founded by Wade Waddick… and for that reason I decided to tour their facility when classes weren’t going on! haha! I didn’t think I would be able to keep up! Wade is a beast and his trainers are like no other! Instead I had a personal session with Wade and he instructed me through different workouts that they do during their class sessions. Let me tell you, just going through the different exercises literally kicked my a$$! This of course, is the purpose of working out, so thanks for that Wade!

Let’s start with my 5-star criteria to measure this gym and see if Evo is a King of Gyms! For each criteria I give a gym a muscle or a thumbs down! Let’s see what Evo is made of!

There are a number of things I don’t consider when rating gyms — 1) your personal goals, because everyone joins gyms for different reasons, 2) drive time, and last but not least, 3) budget because you can’t put a price on your health and fitness goals!

Now on to things that I do consider:

#1 The gyms wow factor, does the atmosphere motivate me to be a beast!

The moment I pulled up to Evo, I knew that there was something special with this place. The flag pole in front of their facility with the 🇺🇸 American flag waving high, I totally knew I was at the right place. The outside of the gym is where the majority of the group classes take place. The gym also as an area of astroturf that has an onslaught of tires and sledded pulling activities. As you get inside you know you are in Evo! Why? Because of the pronounced orange colors that brand the walls of the facility, inside you have your share of free weights, smith machines, lat bars, rowers, and treadmills as well as the fan favorite TRX. This gym definitely gets a 💪 for wow factor for the interior.

#2 The staff — how does the staff treat me, do they care about my success, correct my form, etc.

I didn’t get a chance to meet all of the staff, but I did get to have a one on one session with the owner Wade. Wade instructs several classes throughout the week and ensures that he sets the standards for his staff. I spoke to several people that are members of Evo, and they jokingly, but totally serious told me that if they skip a few classes, they know that they will be expecting a text or a Facebook message from Wade wondering where they’ve been and to get there butts back in the gym! For this reason, I give them a 💪!

#3 Cleanliness — Is the facility clean, especially the bathroom?

I can’t stand working out at a dirty facility. There is nothing more nasty than getting on a machine that smells like a used football jersey! Wade showed me a few exercises that required me to get on the floor and to be honest, it was clean! Their equipment was squared away; everything looked as if it had a place, I even went as far as picking up an old sledgehammer that I located in the corner and to my surprise I couldn’t even find a dusty bunny, not that I was looking or anything right!? (Funny face) It showed that Wade runs a tight ship, maybe its the marine in him? Did I mention, Evo is a veteran owned business? Even better! But, either way this place was neat and smelled clean, so I give them another 💪 !

#4 Does the facility have the equipment necessary to satisfy a complete body workout?

Look at this dope picture, and answer the question for yourself 💪!

#5 The people! Does the gym have douchey people, is it cliquey or is it welcoming to new comers?

The way I saw the classes go, it’s hard to be someone who thinks they’re better than the rest in this place, because one set you may be killing it, pushing out those push ups and then the next set you might have to do weighted lunges. Nobody can have an ego after they go through a class at Evolution! They will push you to your limits over and over again! As far as the gym being cliquey, I get the vibe that you can workout alone, with a group, or with a partner. There are usually a group of sections and a number of reps you’ve got to do, so even if you work with a group or partner, you may begin and end at different times. I love that about this place, it helps you to connect with different people at the gym, you can workout with someone stronger or someone just beginning their fitness journey. Evo shows that it is a huge community of people, all different walks of life, a huge family and for this I give Evo another 💪 !

If you can’t tell, this place is pretty amazing and definitely worth a try, especially if you’ve never tried group fitness or love working out in a group setting! I can promise you that you won’t leave their bored! Wade I give your gym the title of King of the Gyms!

If you think you have what it takes to take a class at Evolution Fitness, do it! DM or text me and I’ll join you! I won’t punk out! Lol Enjoy
