I Never Compromise Unless the Price is Right
I’m perceptive. I see Karen sneaking office supplies into her bag. Pens, highlighters, paperclips, binders, file holders. She stuffs a fax machine in as well. Now she’s pushing out the copier. Uh, Karen, I say. What are you doing with the copier? It’s fine, she says. No, it’s not fine, I say. How much to shut you up? she says. Thirty bucks? I’ll take no less than twenty, I say. She gives me twenty. I go back to my desk and stare at that crisp twenty. It pays to be perceptive, it really does.
