I am done writing

I’ve been writing professionally since January 2016. Seems like a long time ago, doesn’t it? Go ahead, picture what you were doing at that time. I bet it feels completely unreal, of how far both me and you have come since that time.

Anyways, as I just turned 22, I’ve been a professional writer for 20 months straight. During this time I’ve published three books on self-help, philosophy, psychology and everything else in between. On top of that, I own two blogs that handle topics such as fitness, dating and life in general. Wanna know how to wake up every morning with a tremendous smile on your face? Then my blog is the place to go to. Have a girl that you like, but you have no ideas on how to actually ask her out, and even if you did, what’s next to come? My blog is the right place to check out for questions such as these.(https://myrealdating.com)

“A writer writes. If you want to be a writer, write.”

I’m really bad at math, but I did some calculations. It turns out I’ve written around half a million words during my time as a writer!

Now, I have no freaking idea if that’s a lot or not. Perhaps it’s just a regular number, or maybe it’s not even considered to be noteworthy. Either way, I feel as if it’s a big deal. After all, all that we have in the world is our own perception. Be the king in your own mind and you’ll end up also being the king in the objective world, not just the subjective.

Now, these things might sound really professional and overall cool, but I haven’t been producing much content lately. Like, zero. Nada. Nothing at all.

Oh, why is that?

The answer is simple. I don’t feel like it. I don’t want to. Not anymore.

I used to always say writing is the best way to actually realize what you know and what you don’t, a fine reality check if you will, which is perhaps the reason why I am here, right now, in the first place, writing this and whatnot.

Point being…

I don’t want to be a writer anymore.

A big part of our lives is acquiring knowledge, and then sharing that what we know with others, be that our kids, our students or with just a friend. Chain of knowledge is a powerful thing, this is how we learn. We should always offer advice to others so that we could see them handle their life better. Think about it. Your words have the power to influence the life of others to a great degree. If no one has told you this today, then let me be the first — you do matter. The choices you make, the actions you take — all of those may just take a toll on someone else’s life. The way you live your life is an great influence to the people around you, whether you like that or not. We are all teachers, in a way. A deep deep deep way.

However, if you’re not living up to your own values, you’ll be unhappy. That’s the key to happiness, at least in my book. Helping others will always be my top priority, but there is something that’s even more important, and that’s helping yourself. Always start with yourself, since a broken teapot can’t boil properly.

My values haven’t changed, but the channel from where I operate has shifted.

I care about people, I care about changing the lives of others for the better, but I do not care for writing. Not anymore.

All this being said…

I am done.
