You can choose to involve some of the other characters from this book or none of them. You must also include details that you already know about this character from this text. Aside from those requirements, the story can be about anything you want, but make sure to use dialogue.
“Chad, honey, are you back from the bakery shop?” asked Maya.
“Yes, and I got your favorites! A chocolate-covered croissant and almond milk,” replies Chad.
“Thanks a lot!” says Maya and gives him a quick hug.
“Now, let’s not let our day go to waste! I’ve planned the whole afternoon so let’s go!” says Chad enthusiastically.
“I’m ready, lets go!”
So, they’re off on a mission to live the afternoon to the fullest. The two rush to one of their favorite places, the Six Flags amusement park.
“Hey, Maya, do ya want to ride the King the Ka?” asked Chad.
“Of course! That’s what I came here for!”
So off they went. The rhythmic chugging of the coaster made both of them nervous. Here comes the fall!
“Ahh!” they both cry, but halt, after they realize that the coaster had not dropped. There must be a malfunction in the wheels, thought Chad. Maybe I can fix it. He recently discovered that he was pretty handy. So, he took off his seat belt.
“What are you doing? Have you lost your mind? We’re on the tallest point of this roller coaster, and you’re about to step out of the cart?” raved Maya.
“Maya, I have to try to fix the wheel or we all might die!” Chad told her.
“Just be 100x more careful than you usually are. Please don’t fall!” Maya exclaimed.
“I won’t. I just need to be brave,” Chad soothed her.
Then he thought in his head, what am I saying I can’t do this! He pushed the thought to the back of his head.
“Don’t look down, don’t look down,” Chad said aloud.
Most of the people looked at him like he was either extremely crazy or heroic. Most went with the first one. After Chad will himself not to break down and cry, he started to fix. When he was done his whole body looked like he ran through a sprinkler fully clothed. Now, he somehow needed the person below to get them going again. Chad told everybody the plan.
“Okay, if you want to get out of here alive, follow my plan. I want you to yell as loudly as you can and say ‘Start it up’. On the count of three. One, two, three!”
“START IT UP!”
Sure enough, it started up again. Then, everybody enjoyed the rest of the ride.
“Lets do that again sometime,” says Chad.
“Are you crazy? I will never do that again in my life!” screams Maya.
“I was just joking. What shall we do next?” asked Chad.
“How ‘bout rock-climbing?” suggests Maya.
“That’s fine with me! Off we go!”
