Thank you Doug for sharing that. It’s always nice to hear that there are other people going through Launch School whose circumstances aren’t much different than my own. I’m also in my early thirties and I can definitely relate with watching my friends doing wonderful things in their own jobs and I want that kind of joy out of my own that I see they have in theirs. I’ll just be getting to mine slower.
At this point, I’m not worried about whether or not I’ll be ‘good’ at programming when I’m done. I’m more concerned with the present joy I get out of learning in general and learning languages in particular (I also speak/am learning Spanish and I speak it to my daughter exclusively).
Be present now is important. That’s a great reminder. My priest tells me that all the time. :)
