Love the idea of limiting laws to 1000 words and having an explicit maximum duration. These are great ideas that deserve some consideration in our own society.
I don’t think it makes sense to have a law have a smaller majority needed to overturn. Maybe he didn’t think about that very well. Obviously if you failed to defeat a law when it passes then you may be able to turn around and get it revoked the next day with a minority.
Before the US government formed the colonies used very participatory democracy including having everyone showing up to vote on virtually everything people did. The technology today allows us to have that kind of participatory government. I am not sure that has been proven to be superior but I don’t have any good arguments why we shouldn’t do that if we could.
