Among Christians and churches, the Bible is the standard against all actions and behaviors are judged. On this issue of homosexual marriage, it could not be more clear. The practice is a perversion and an affront to God, who made the institution of marriage to be a picture of the relationship between Jesus Christ and the church. The Anglicans of Canada did well in their vote to stick with the written Word of God and not go with doing “that which is right in their own eyes”. As Christians, we cannot abandon the Word of God as doing so is the same thing as abandoning Jesus Christ and God the Father who sent Him.

God’s standards of holiness and what is right is not the same as our own. You only need to read how in the books of Nehemiah and Ezra, the disobedient people were called to put away the wives and children they had been commanded not to have. The Bible is the only means available to us to learn to tell the difference between good and evil behavior. By insisting doing away with the Written Word, not only are you setting yourself up for many future troubles you are also putting your salvation at risk.
