It sounds to me like you may not have understood the meaning of the word ‘belief’ in the first place and that’s why you dislike it so now. The Bible tells us that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. As far as God is concerned, it is not belief unless it comes from a deeper place inside of a person than mere intellectual assent can produce. James explains that unless our belief produce some corresponding action then it isn’t real, instead it is just dead (Faith without works is dead). So while you’re right to decry the common condition within the church, I don’t think you are correct in throwing out ‘belief’ and ‘believing’ as a result of what you’ve seen because what you’re reacting against was never really belief to begin with.

Job 42:5 I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear; But now my eye sees You.
