Newfoundland and Labrador doubles its PNP allocation for immigration

Six months after requesting an increase in its allotment of immigrants through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), Newfoundland and Labrador, an Atlantic Canadian province, has doubled its yearly immigration from 1,500 to 3,050 people. According to the latest data from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the province welcomed 3,495 new permanent residents in 2022, representing a 70.9% increase from the 2,045 new immigrants in the previous year. To date, the province welcomed 1,585 new permanent residents in 2023.
