Playtesters always have more feedback than you can or want to process. If I get an off-topic or unhelpful piece of feedback, I say, “Thanks. I’ll note that.” And, usually I do note it, because I may need it in the future. If, after I say that, others start riffing off that unhelpful comment and start taking the conversation off track, then I will use your approach. “I appreciate this input. Let me ask you a question about [the topic I am focused on for this playtest].”
