First; I found you accidently & I must applaud your overall explantion of tolerance in general. Very conscise & well written. Perhaps the best I have seen to date. I am saving it for future reference. I have other questions & comments on that subject for a future time. On the current topic: I am not sure of your analysis of the newer generation Israelis as “grittier cynics”. How does that equate in thoughts, actions, & goals? I see Israel as being a much more secular & tolerant nation in general then in the beginning. Though from the start they were given very little time to work out peace & could only react. And since then they have tried many times the peace treaty approach. Also I noticed you did not critique the Arab/Islamists public. Are they the same as they have ever been. Perhaps 20 years ago was the time to make peace but as you should know; Arafat, the PA, & all of their leaders since wanted nothing to do with it. IMHO this is an example where a lasting peaceful coexistence is a pipe dream, as the goals of each nation are in direct opposition of the other. Not to mention all the outside influences.
