Day 01: “The Book that Changed my Life”

When I was a child, I used to ask myself “Why I hate books?”. I haven’t got any interest in reading any books unless it is required or needed for school purposes. I think that I’m extremely allergic to books, but I don’t know why? Maybe I think that reading is just a waste of time, where I don’t show any interest at all. I’d rather spent my time for playing computer games, watching television shows, listening to pop music composed of foreign singers and travelling different places that relaxes my mind. That’s me and I’m used to it.

Until I graduated on High School, I haven’t finished reading any book yet especially those books having 200 pages above. Gosh, please take those away from me! That will kill me slightly and unconsciously. I wonder if books and I were not meant to be but I guess the answer will be yes. I hate books and I think books hate me as well.

During college, I’ve decided to try something new in my life aside from doing the same things over and over again. That’s why I decided to try reading books. I chose “Bob Ong’s Bakit Baligtad Magbasa ng Libro ang mga Pilipino”. This is the very first book that I’ve finished reading. That time, I don’t know what happened to me. Why I read that book where it came to the point that I spent less time doing my daily routine like playing Computer Games, watching movies and even chatting her and my friends on Facebook. Damn, How it all happened? Is it a miracle? Is that the power of books? Holy Cr*p! Even me, I can’t describe what I felt reading that book. I felt that I was on an imaginary world and It allowed me to escape reality. Best feeling ever!

Until this time, I’m still reading the second book that captured my boring life. Right now, I consider books as a best friend, not an object. A friend that will allow you to experience happiness and joy that will last .

Always remember that ‘Book is like a wind, ALWAYS BY MY SIDE!’
