John McCain has managed to do a couple of decent things in his life, but overall, the handful of good things he did, don’t compensate for the many bad things he has done.
He will be remembered as a misguided and (usually) morally bankrupt congressman and senator (as well as a deservedly failed presidential candidate) who held office during a period of American decline, much of that decline the direct result of the legislation he supported and helped to put into place.
His passing is no great loss and may well be a good thing.
