Why Blog?

As a huge consumer of digital media I’ve thought about starting a blog for a long time, to which my friends often replied, “But what would you write about?” I plan to write about a lot of different things. I will often be wrong, but I hope that making my thoughts public for others to think about and criticize will make me less so.

I chose Medium as my platform for a few reasons. The interface is simple yet easily permits adding all sorts of media. The lack of an anonymous comment system is also a powerful deterrent to Internet Trolls. Finally I love the social aspect of the platform, which allows me to discover interesting content from other bloggers while potentially pushing my posts out for others to read.
