Are Human Beings becoming a species of comfort & convenience?

Evolution of any species, will be solely based upon survival. An hypothesis for example could be the case of giraffe, how it developed long slender & flexible necks to fetch leaves from tall trees after running out of grass for generations.

But if you may allow yourselves to be amused, human beings or homo sapiens, at least for the last few centuries since civilizations dawned have had not a major problem that challenged their survival. Animals were hunted down, enslaved; pandemics were treated and vaccines were found for most of the deadly diseases, medical support has extended life expectancy remarkably and so on.

Any problem that a species could consider a challenge for survival is now ruled out for human beings, if I can daresay now.

So the way we go through evolution, is now based on the comforts that we seek and conveniences that we indulge in, generation after generation, and I wonder how humans will look like after at least a 1000 years of texting, typing and swiping being their habitual actions for almost everything.

It has been a long time since human beings have stepped into the paradise of comfort zone, with most of the inventions, discoveries, scientific breakthroughs and business ideas are strongly built upon convenience. To make life easier was the purpose of a machine, we were leaping through time by saving a lot of it by handing over our day to day actions to machines. Commuting, for example, we no longer have to walk for hours. In the same hours, we tend to reach farther distances instead.

I’d like to end my writing with a few questions,

Are we going in the right direction? Is craving for convenience hitting overdose? If there is a possible apocalypse, could it be the end of our convenience alone? What would humans do if one day, energy becomes unavailable to run their machines and use their smartphones? Are we walking too far away from home, which is nothing but our gifted instincts and intuition as a primitive species, and someday at a risk of breaking the tether? Should we stop running or at least pause, to get some breath and look around to see how much we’ve ruined on this beautiful planet because we want to be comfortable? Despite all advancements in science, technology and medicine, aren’t we our own danger, wiping off everything from this planet in the name of comfort?

Intelligence and wisdom is not about never making a mistake at all, but how soon we come to our senses and realize a mistake.

Thank you for reading,

The planet is not use and throw!
