Good story. But it seems like something’s missing. How did you change your eating habits from addiction — you compare yourself to an alcoholic — to “normal”? Surely it involved more than bariatric surgery, which has a low long-term success rate. You use some therapy terms—“healing my relationship with food and my body” and “moving through and facing the bad things.” Was learning new ways to cope through therapy part of the change?
