The climb…

Imagine you are at the bottom of a mountain… Rocky areas, steep parts, other areas less steep and more pristine… A full array of different aspects to this mountain! You look up and can hardly see the top of it as it’s so high up, but from a distance when you saw it, it was impressive… Now at the foot of it, it’s even more impressive.

You’ve never climbed this particular mountain before and though you struggled on other mountain climbs, this one is not the others… This one is different as far as mountains go.. And you feel the desire to climb again…

At the bottom you have lots of paths to choose from, but once decide which path and you set your foot on that path, you know there is no looking back. All mountain climbs present challenges, no two are the same and though there are some similarities you realize what you learned before on other climbs will probably not necessarily apply on this one. So you know you either take that first step or go back in your car and drive away…

But you stay, you decide your path to the top and you start the climb, slowly at first getting a feel for the surroundings. Apprehension can set in at first but you have to push it away, trust in yourself … you are willing to slip and fall, get some scrapes, bruises maybe even bleed, most likely you will have temporary setbacks. Have to pause to catch your breath. You might even slide backwards… But you know you can do it and you know once at the top, what is waiting there, will make you appreciate the climb more than you could have ever imagined when you decided to come near it in the first place!

In the end the whole story come comes down to the DESIRE to want to climb…

The VISION to see yourself at the top looking down and realizing any struggles couldn’t compare to what you have in that moment

The COMMITMENT to see your vision become a reality

The RESILENCY to handle the struggles that may face along the way for nothing is easy and why should it be… No one appreciates easy!

The PATIENCE to know it’s always going to take time, time to think, time to decide, time to climb and time to get there but then a whole lot of time to soak in the greatness of what was accomplished…

And lastly the BELIEF… To believe that what it’s all for, the journey, the experience, the learning, to believe it will all be worth it… Believe in it enough to want to struggle a bit, sacrifice a bit, share a bit… but in the end….believe in yourself, for if you take that first step the future becomes yours, by your hand by your power by your design…
