Two Kinds of Voting, Two Kinds of Disruption, and Two Kinds of Unrighteousness

Ben Sasse is right and we need more leaders like him who aren’t afraid of telling the truth. As he recently joked, he is indeed the hideous offspring of Tom Coburn and Paul Ryan. Keep up the hideousness.

Sasse offers a clearer version of my argument that Trump is the manifestation of the GOP’s nihilistic French Revolution. There is good disruption (i.e. the American Revolution and shaking up today’s status quo) and bad disruption (i.e. Trump’s campaign which has as its foundation deceptions and rationalizations rather than rational thought).

The GOP is facing an Apocalypto moment that gives a new meaning to C.S. Lewis’ concern about “men without chests.”

Cutting out the moral and intellectual heart of the GOP in the hope that appeasing the gods of prosperity and strength will make American great again is delusional. Hopefully the delegates will think twice about committing ritual suicide on the altar of celebrity CON$ervatism.
