Partners are invaluable
Find your Damon Dash and Steve Wozniak
Every entrepreneur experiences the peaks and valleys of chasing the dream. Like everything, some days are better than others. The journey of entrepreneurship is not something one should travel alone. The path is long, winding, dark, and unpaved. It helps to have someone in the shotgun seat. You need that honest opinion from someone with skin in the game and an understanding of the full picture. You need that likeminded person to lift your spirits when they are down. Your business is your baby. And your business is better off in a two-parent household.
Bringing on a partner was one of the best decisions I made. What I forget, he remembers. What I overlook, he sees. And vice versa. We both have the same work ethic, aspirations, and expectations, which makes the relationship work. We also were friends beforehand. We have demoed at 1 a.m. to teams in Dubai. We fixed bugs while on family vacations. We understand the commitment and the goal. And we pursue that goal relentlessly and without complaint.
Do yourself a favor and partner up. Even Jay-Z needed Damon Dash. Even Steve Jobs needed Steve Wozniak.
