Interesting in today’s fake news world…

The supposed ‘proofs’ — both for and against — are ultimately nothing but text and images. You or I could have put the whole lot together on our own machines. So how is any of that proof of anything? It just highlights how we have been trained to think that some sources are more reliable than others.

Without arguing for the idea that the landings never happened, I found the case against the landing more broad minded for the sceptical language it was couched in. The case for the landings in the Huffpo tried to ridicule and insult its opponents as much as it tried to set out its case. And anyway, whoever put it together has no absolute proof; the first supposed landing was 48 years ago and attended in person by a maximum of three people… or maybe a studio crew.

Welcome to the age of ‘alternative facts’…
