This is a great article. Metallica not only has great music, but has done so much for the music world and music industry. They have influenced many other rock and metal bands and as you said, they are firmly planted in their territory. In my opinion, their best music comes from their first five albums (Kill ’Em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, …and Justice for All, and The Black Album). Each of these albums has its own unique sound and the majority of their biggest hits come from them. One of the many signs of the greatness of these albums is the fact that so many bands have covered songs from them, including the 20th anniversary tribute to Master of Puppets, in which a different band covered each song from this classic album. The music world is changing so drastically and so quickly, with more and more artists using more and more effects. Music is becoming more computerized and less natural and original, and it is comforting to realize that bands like Metallica will always have their place with their raw music and heavy influence on well known and established rock and metal bands as well as aspiring musicians. In a time when music is constantly changing and adapting to fit the sandy foundation of new trends, the legacy that Metallica has left will live on.
