I Did Not Just Come To Dislike President Donald J. Trump

No, it goes back much further than that — long before he was publicly exposed as a bully, misogynist, boor, narcissist, and liar. I wrote the following poem back in 2009, after observing him for years:
Donald Trump
By johnmac
Maybe I’m not the only person
who hates Donald Trump
In today’s New York Post,
Columnist Cindy Adams,
writing about Henry Hudson,
scribed “anyway, he sailed up
this river and; like Trump.
right away, named the thing
after himself.”
At the top of my hill, there is
the “Donald Trump State Park –
Indian Hill Section” and there is
NOTHING THERE — only a
closed gate.
Trump’s company had bought land
years ago, hoping to rezone down from
four acres and build condos
but the locals fought him … and
fought him … and fought him.
So finally, he gave up and gave it
to New York State with the stipulation
that it be named after him.
Big signs went up on the highway –
— bigger than the exit signs.
And he took his tax write-off and went home
But there is only a locked gate.
I wonder if he will
rename “hell”
when he gets there.

Now, I realize that it was New York State that did not spend the money to actually turn the land into something usable — with a pool or sports fields or just nature trails through kept grounds — and, besides, heavy traffic on only a two lane access road would have been disastrous — BUT this is another example of Trump’s name going on something, the venture going bad, and Trump skipping away, leaving someone else holding the bag.
The problem now is that, when he skips away from the presidency, whether through impeachment, resignation, voter action, or, God forbid, the end of two four-year terms, it will be the American public holding the bag while he and his robber band family skip away much richer than when he took the Oath of Office — an oath he would constantly violate through duplicity, incompetence, and meanness.
PS — As any reader might surmise, I, like the entire Bush family, John Kasich, and the majority of Americans (no matter what lies about that Trump puts forth), did not vote for Donald J. Trump.
