The host for 201 shows

Poet, author and essayist Kate Hanson Foster was my guest on the 200th episode of “The Weekly johnmac Radio Show” on August 13, 2017. You can access my interview with Kate at
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/johmac13/2017/08/13/johnmac-radio-show.

Kate, the author of “Mid Drift” (goo.gl/UpWv4u), which was selected by the Massachusetts Center for the Book as a “Must Read” in 2011, has recently been awarded an NEA Fellowship under which she be beginning a residency in October of this year at the Vermont Studio Center. Kate’s work has appeared in a number of journals and her website, https://www.katehansonfoster.com/, contains a collection of her poetry, essays and reviews. Additionally, she has given in-depth print interviews which may be read at

Kate was followed to my microphones on August 20, 2017 by author, poet, and retired military and intelligence officer and business executive Edward Ahern, who I first met on July 29th of this year. when we both read our poetry at the Stamford Arts Festival. The interview with Ed can be found at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/johmac13/2017/08/20/weekly-johnmac-radio-show.

Ed began writing only in 2009, over 40 years after his graduation from college, after spending time as a Naval Officer, a reporter, an Intelligence Officer (which required him to learn both German and Japanese) and a career in sales and management in the corporate world. He began writing fiction — mainly short stories — and in 2014 added poetry to his repertoire. In this short time, he has published over 140 stories and poems. He is active in the “Fairfield Scribes” (fairfieldscribes.com) and the “Westport Writers’ Rendezvous” (https://www.meetup.com/Westport-Writers-Rendezvous/) and is a Coordinating Editor at “Bewildering Stories” (http://www.bewilderingstories.com/). Ed is presently working on a paranormal / thriller novel with the working title, “The Rule of Chaos”.

One of the things that Ed is the most proud is his participation as one of 40 poets in the international poetry anthology, “Indra’s Net” (goo.gl/D8SrL9) “published by Bennison Books will go to The Book Bus, a charity which aims to improve child literacy rates in Africa, Asia and South America by providing children with books and the inspiration to read them”.
