Miracles Happen When You Do What You Love

It’s one hundred percent true! Do what you love and everything in your life changes. It doesn’t matter if you are an expert or not, but by doing something with passion, commitment and determination you will have far better results than any other thing you would do.

This is what I realized when I’ve joined an international humanitarian aid to help with the refugee crisis a few years ago in Greece. My passion to be able to give, contribute and help others made me so strong mentally and physically. During my first week working in a remote transit camp, I lost 15 pounds, I was sleeping 5 hours a day and had so much energy in me than never before.

Giving is a blessing. It starts by understanding we are a gift in this world and we are here to give back. This was always something that made me feel good. Since I was a little kid I wanted to help others and it was always coming from within. The movie “Pay it Forward” with Kevin Spacey was one of my favorite movies, so inspiring and motivating.

Most of the time we spend daily, we use our minds as a garage of facts and not as a fine machine that generates ideas. There’s so much information in our days we don’t know what to do with it and at the end of the day we end up in our bed tired and confused, ready to sleep and leave it all behind. We are a product of our own thoughts and these thoughts are nothing but facts that lead nowhere.

If we could spend time everyday to generate ideas and create opportunities, things might be different. The little guy in that movie didn’t only generate an idea, but created a system that his idea would make a huge impact in other people’s lives! It’s how big we think that matters.

So, when I had a talk with a friend of mine, he told me why don’t you start blogging about helping others? It could be something really good to do! Then, I was thinking all these articles and books I was reading about personal development. I was always seeking to get better, improve and inspire myself to do the things that are hard to do.

At that time, I bought my new mirrorless camera and I started taking photos of things that I love. It was the beginning of summer and the sunsets were calling me to go capture them! I was waking up early to capture the sunrise and in the afternoons I was chasing the sunsets on the other side of town. I’ve never seen a sunset that I didn’t like.

At the end of summer, I quit my job (as an employee). I remember I stood at the sunset and didn’t capture anything but stood there and felt free like never before. I told myself that evening, I will do what I love and I will dedicate myself to becoming the best that I can be, improve my skills and knowledge, be more creative and show others my point of view through my camera.

I’ve started my new site and started working on Instagram a few months later. I am posting a few images per week but also engage with my followers and learning from them. Since then, I’ve made so many new friends from around the world! It’s amazing how small things can have such a huge impact in our life. My friends encourage me to continue post more and find ways to help others with what I do.

Miracles happen when we believe, when we engage faith and have a vision. When we think that good things happen on the other side of fear. When we leave our comfort zone and do what we love. When we focus on who we are and where we’re going. When we believe that everything is a miracle and despite the difficulties we keep moving forward.
