This was extremely interesting as an insight into their individual philosphies. KOC sees a potentially elite and prized skill and is willing to bet on that upside. Tjarks sees that that skill is only valuable (this high) if it is elite and doesn’t want to bet on the relatively small chance.

The crazy part is that KOC could be right even if Taytum is a bust and wrong if he is a star.. depending on the likelihood he ascribes to Taytum’s potential to be elite and what that is in reality.. if that makes sense. It shows how even when following a great process, it is very easy to miss on picks.

Their individual evaluations come into play but it really speaks to how they see the draft. Good stuff. More of this please!
