This is a bit of a hatchet job on Sanders. I mean, obviously, it’s worth watching and paying attention to his position. And on this he’s prevaricating, collecting or marshaling his political capital for what he deems its best use. Maybe not the call we, or this pundit, would make, but we’re not in Bernie’s shoes.
Tracey strains to fit this into a “gottcha” moment, massaging a passing observation into an apotheosis-tinged denouement. Mikey’s zealotry to ‘get an angle” on current affairs seems consistent with TYT’s elbow-in-your-ribs style of journalism. Its tone is similar to Maddow’s, and may be as much, or more, of the message as their content.
What’s going on in Syria and what is going to be Trump’s — as well as the DNC”s — endgame is not at all clear. Certainly, Syria is being targeted for destruction as it stands in the path of a Greater Israel. How the country gets destroyed, by fighting terrorists, by having terrorists fight each other, by having Russia fight the USA proxy style, starvation through sanctions, etc., etc., seems to hardly matter. The point is to destroy it, and the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Movement is the best available reversal.
